We’re going to be able to savor the sights and sounds of Resident Evil 7 when it’s released this year. No, I’m not talking about some sort of smell-o-vision. PlayStation VR isn’t that advanced yet. Rather, there’s an unexpected tie-in. An official Resident Evil 7 scented candle has been announced.
The Merchoid candle is actually being billed as a Resident Evil VII Blood, Sweat, and Fears 4D Candle. It’s supposed to offer a more immersive experience when you use the PlayStation VR with the game. It also smells like wood and blood. Which is appropriate, since the game is set in a mansion where unspeakable horrors have taken place.
The Resident Evil VII Blood, Sweat, and Fears 4D Candle is going to last between 18 and 20 hours, which could cover the entire length of the game. It’s going to be $18.99/£14.99/€19.99 when it launches on January 20, four days before the game’s released. While that is a bit expensive, this is considered an incense candle, is very specialized, and happens to be endorsed by Capcom. Just use it when you really need it, should you pick one up to go with your game!
