A Spiritual Successor to Nick Arcade is Being Kickstarted

The original creators of Nick Arcade are Kickstarting a brand new show! Once again the theme is video games, and the show will take advantage of brand new technology to integrate both gaming and VR into its format. The show is called Enthlevel, and is looking to raise $350,000 by next month.

Here’s what the official Kickstarter page had to say about the show.

The competition is set up so that in each show episode, multiple teams of contestants can face multiple rounds of gaming and gaming reflex challenges (think of the ways that you take in and manipulate information during PC, console or mobile gaming, and that being used to test you).  As many as 6 teams or more may start each show.

The object for each team is to stay alive long enough to unlock cinematic VR missions separating each round, where live action and CG (computer graphics) obstacles converge.

Teams stay alive by scoring well in the gaming challenges – challenges covering current games and games going back all the way to the 90s (with as many hits and classics appearing on-air we hope as possible. That’s up to their publishers). The lowest scoring teams are dropped out.

The last team ultimately standing goes for a bonus challenge prize.

As far as contestants, teens through adults any age may compete.

That’s the overview, and will be refined through TV-style playtesting once we’re underway.  You’ll see it happen with stand-in contestants through access to special videos and posts.

It has raised 1,477 dollars as of time of writing with 29 days left to go. If you want to see this happen, hop on over to the official page and pitch in a few bucks.
