Activision And GameStop Team Up For Prototype 2 Promotion

Prototype 2’s 2012 release date still feels like the distant future, but Activision and GameStop have announced a promotion that will bridge the gap for one lucky gamer.

Players who pre-order Prototype 2 at GameStop between now and September 1st, will have the opportunity to enter a drawing to win a trip for two to Radical Entertainment in Vancouver. Once there, the winner will “spend the day having their face scanned into the game and have a chance to see never-before-seen footage of the game.”



Obviously, this raises important existential questions for the players who might participate in the promotion. Do I love Prototype because it’s an imaginary world that I can escape into? And would the existence of my physical form in this world create a foundational link to reality that might counteract the feeling of escape that draws me in?

Or perhaps asking these questions is ridiculous.

Either way, you need to pre-order your copy of Prototype 2 before September 1, 2011 to be eligible for the contest, but the game is slated for release in April of 2012.
