Activision Will Let You 3D Print a Working Skylander

Activision Will Let You 3D Print a Working Skylander

When Activision announced the new Skylanders game would let you make your own Skylander, it planted an idea. What if it were possible to order a figure of your Skylanders Imaginators character? Well, apparently both Toys for Bob and Activision were thinking about that eventuality. The games will work with a Skylanders Creator app that will let you make a 3D-printed figure.

The 3D-printed Skylander will be one of three custom merchandise options for Skylanders Imaginators . The figure will be a $49.99 limited run item that keeps the character protected in a dome, comes with a card showing its information, and works with all versions of the game. You can also get the custom NFC card alone for $14.99. The final option is a $24.99 custom t-shirt with your character on it.

This is probably the coolest idea ever. I’m not even going to get Skylanders Imaginators at launch, but I’m absolutely going to download the Skylanders Creator app to prepare a character card to use when I do eventually have it. This is going to make the dreams of kids of all ages come true.
