The Interactive Achievement Awards have already been recognized as one of the industry’s most prestigious award convocations. But now, with the inclusion of the IGDA, the IAA has been launched to a position of preeminence.

Press Release:

The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS), a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement and recognition of the interactive arts, announced today its partnership with the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) to support the annual Interactive Achievement Awards (IAA). In this capacity, all members of the IDGA will be able to vote for the Games of the Year categories, making the IAA the official awards of the games industry.

Each year the IAA takes place during the annual D.I.C.E (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain) Summit in Las Vegas. The 2009 D.I.C.E. Summit will take place February 18-20, 2009 and the IAA will take place February 19, 2009 at the Red Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.
