At its annual awards show on Saturday, February 5th, the Writers Guild of America revealed the winner of the award for best writing in a videogame. Ubisoft’s Patrice Desilets, Jeffrey Yohalem, Corey May, Ethan Petty, Nicholas Grimwood, and Matt Turner were honored for their work on Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. Other nominees included the writers behind Fallout: New Vegas, God of War III, Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands, Singularity, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II.

The award was established by the Writers Guilds’ Videogame Writers Caucus to promote excellence in videogame storytelling, and to establish standards for writers working in the videogame industry. The award is also meant to recognize writers’ contributions to the success of the videogame industry.
