Anarchy Reigns Budget Priced?

Anarchy Reigns Budget Priced?

None

Upcoming action-brawler Anarchy Reigns pulls together some of the most iconic characters from Platinum Games’ limited repertoire, in addition to a variety of original characters, in a hectic and violent free-roaming cross between Dynasty Warriors and Super Smash Bros. It also looks to be easy on the wallet, as the upcoming multi-platform release is showing as $29.99 at Buy.com and on Canadian retailer Futureshop’s website.

Most interesting, though, is that GameStop’s website, which reportedly listed the title at this extremely low price-point, has since entirely excised the listing from its website. Searches for “Anarchy” and “Anarchy Reigns” have turned up nothing at all, but a call to a local GameStop revealed that the item, as currently listed in their pre-order system, is slated to launch at $29.99, seemingly confirming the price point.

There’s both good and bad at this price point, the good being that individuals who may have been on the fence about making a purchase are much more likely to snatch the title up, especially as an impulse buy. Less flattering, though, is the implication that the game’s developer or publisher simply doesn’t think it has the chops to be successful at full price, whether due to the game’s quality or market appeal. Back on the bright side, it still costs less money than Capcom’s updated rereleases of its fighters have cost buyers at launch.
