Arland Trilogy Has An End Date

Arland Trilogy Has An End Date

None

The Atelier series began way back with the original Atelier Iris on the PlayStation 2, extending up through the Mana Khemia games (along with an Atelier Annie spin-off on the DS; the only Atelier game on a non-Sony console) to the latest Arland trilogy of Atelier RPGs on the PlayStation 3. Of those, only Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland has yet to reach English-speaking shores. It came out in Japan last year, on June 23.

Meruru’s story is coming to North America soon, though. A post on the official US PlayStation Blog confirms that, as well as offering some details about the upcoming RPG.

The setting has moved to the North, in the kingdom of Arls, starring that kingdom’s princess, Meruru, who is now apprenticed to the star of the previous game, Totori. Drawing, perhaps, from Dark Cloud, Atelier Meruru allows players to develop the land of Arls, expanding the areas available for exploration in the process. It sounds like it will serve as a fitting capstone to the Arland trilogy when it hits on May 22, exclusively on the PlayStation 3.
