Assassin’s Creed Gets Animated

Assassin’s Creed Gets Animated

None

It seems like just about every video game has to have a movie these days. Luckily, Assassin’s Creed is following in the footsteps of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and keeping its movie incarnation in digital space in an effort to appeal to fans of the series. The movie, announced by Ubisoft yesterday, will be called Assassin’s Creed Embers .

Embers will be a new computer-generated animated short that will be shipping around the same time as Assassin’s Creed Revelations. The short will be developed by Ubisoft themselves, specifically by their UbiWorkshop division, and will be bundled with the Assassin’s Creed: Revelations Signature Edition bundle. People who miss out on the bundle deal will be able to download the movie directly from the PlayStation network and the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

The movie will apparently expand on Ezio’s story, after the events of Revelations. Supposedly, it will act as the conclusion to the Assassin’s Creed series—at least the series so far. Personally, I would have rather seen Ezio’s final act portrayed in the game itself, but if everyone who buys the game can get access to the movie, I suppose that’s not so bad.
