Bethesda Unveils Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition

Bethesda Unveils Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition

None

If you’ve yet to play the most recent installment in Bethesda’s gorgeous and expansive role-playing Elder Scrolls series, June will be your best chance yet. A fifth anniversary edition of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is seeing a limited release. It’s slated to come in a collectible steelbook case and include the map and “making of” DVD from the original collector’s edition. If that isn’t enough, there will also be a trailer and $10 off coupon (valid at all retailers) for the game’s highly-anticipated sequel, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, due out this November.

Oblivion’s Gamebryo engine was at the core of Fallout 3—also a highly acclaimed RPG—as well as the more recent Fallout: New Vegas. While it eschews guns and nukes for swords and sorcery, Oblivion follows a similar open world structure to its post-apocalyptic sister and, with the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansion packs, has enough content to last dozens of hours. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Fifth Anniversary edition will be available this June for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

While all this might sound expensive, we’ve heard rumors of a price tag in the $30 range. Not bad, Bethesda. Not bad at all.
