Howard the Duck is an action-adventure game based on the 1986 film of the same name. This Marvel Comics game was developed by Alternative Software and published by Activision. It was released in the same year as the film for the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, and Apple II consoles.
The Howard the Duck video game is a tie-in for the film, just like the movie, the game bombed after release. Most critics gave it negative scores, and the game failed to leave a lasting impression on players. Howard the Duck Premise
This movie-tie in-game is also known as Howard the Duck: Adventure on Volcano Island. The story of this game focuses on Howard attempting to save his best friends, Phil and Beverly, from the evil Overlord. Both of Howard’s friends have been taken to Volcano Island. Howard has parachuted onto Volcano Island and must collect resources through four levels before facing Overlord.

In this game, players control the titular Howard the Duck. Howard is a talking duck who usually wears a suit and tie and has a sarcastic attitude. Howard has been a relatively obscure Marvel Comics character since 1973. In recent years, Howard the Duck has returned to the public consciousness since his appearance in the 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy film.
