Borderlands isn’t just known for its procedurally generated weapons and its awesome loot based gameplay. It’s also known for its sense of humor. This is the series that brought us buttstallion , the diamond pony! I wonder what ever happened to buttstalion after Handsome Jack was defeated?
Maybe the Academy of Art University will be able to tell us. They’ve partnered with Gearbox to bring us Borderlands based animated short. The academy’s students will write, storyboard, and produce the film, which is scheduled to be released later this year.
Students will work in teams to submit story ideas, which will then be decided upon by a judge panel made up of 2K and Gearbox staff as well as university faculty. The winning group will score internships at 2K and will get to work on the film.
I really do hope that someone chooses to delve into the history of buttstalion. He is my favorite Borderlands 2 character. Good luck to all the students who are participating in the project! We hope to see some hilarious Borderlands 2 side stories soon.
