Bungie Debunks Many Halo: Reach Myths

Bungie Debunks Many Halo: Reach Myths

None

Loads of “pre-Alpha” screenshots and content from Bungie’s upcoming Halo: Reach have leaked onto the Internet. As such, a lot of speculation has swirled around the game – much of it straight up false.

Today, Bungie went ahead and played myth-buster – debunking a lot of common misconceptions. Perhaps the two biggest whoppers came on the heels of a screenshot that featured a yellow HUD and a skewed crosshair (featured below).

This image prompted many to jump to the conclusion that Halo: Reach will sport the yellow HUD and force players to use Project Natal controls to augment the standard controls. However, Bungie made a couple comments unequivocally set straight the misguided.

“The same pre-alpha build that didn’t feature final textures, geometry or decorators also included one of many earlier iterations of the HUD (which even today is still getting tweaked and refined). As of now it’s no longer yellow and sources say it won’t be returning, either.”

“Halo: Reach is NOT a Natal title and is being developed expressly with the traditional Xbox 360 controller in mind.”
