As revealed in a YouTube video published on Thursday, July 3, the worldwide release date for the spiritual successor to Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri , Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth , has been set for Friday, October 24.
Essentially being a dev diary, Firaxis Games co-lead designers Will Miller and David McDonough go into detail about the game’s current development, including various inspirations to make the game grounded in reality despite its sci-fi genre, and also dips into the game’s story, characters, tech tree and more.
Civilization developer Firaxis Games announced Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth at this year’s PAX East in Boston on Saturday, April 12, and the game will be releasing on PC later on in the year. Pre-ordering the game will give you access to the game’s “ Exoplanets Map Pack ” for free.
