Civilization: Revolution on Hold for the Wii

Civilization: Revolution on Hold for the Wii

None

In somewhat unfortunate news, a spokesperson for 2K Games told CVG that, “Development for the Wii version of Sid Meier’s Civilization: Revolution is currently on hold.  We are focusing our attention on creating the best possible Civilization experience for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo DS platforms.”

The Wii support hasn’t been completely axed, but certainly the future production of a Wii edition will depend on the success of the game on the other platforms.

No one is exactly sure why the game has been put on hold, but escalating costs of development, especially for Wii titles, probably has something to do with it.

Civilization: Revolution will be a fast-paced console version of Sid Meier’s phenomenal PC turn-based strategy title.  Sorry Wii owners, Firaxis won’t be sharing their love, at least initially.  Fortunately, the DS version is still slated and is sure to be awesome.
