Not too terribly long ago, virtual console and downloadable WiiWare/DSiWare titles were added to the Club Nintendo gift roster. It was an act a long time coming and, while the initial selection of gifts didn’t stoke an untapped burning passion for Club Nintendo, there was plainly visible potential there. That may change with this month’s titles. Charging in at the head of the pack is Majora’s Mask for the Wii Virtual Console. The latter-day Nintendo 64 title is a polarizing firebrand in the series’ history, with a distinct story and feel that completely subverts the standard paths of progression on which the series has relied ever since. It was also the first title in the series to be headed up by current series director Eiji Aonuma.
