Tired of bad video game movie adaptations? Well, too bad, because it looks like yet another video game classic is getting the screen treatment. The rights to the Devil May Cry franchise have been acquired by Screen Gems for an undisclosed sum. Work has not started on production of any kind, so there is no information about plot or casting at this point.  The only thing we do know is that the movie will feature Dante in a quest to “avenge his mother’s murder by killing off demons,” according to a blurb in trade magazine Variety. Of course, that tells us exactly nothing, so when we know something of substance, we’ll be sure to pass it along. |
