Disney unveiled a new title today that will work something like a mash-up between LittleBigPlanet, the LEGO series, and Kingdom Hearts. Intrigued? Disney Universe is the newest Disney title from their in-house studios. The game will follow little blue characters that can access magical suits that give them special powers. For those Disney-philes among us, the creatures look a little bit like Dee Bees, only they aren’t as stout and can change their appearance based on which suits they wear. These suits look like well-known characters from Disney and Pixar films, and can be used strategically to solve puzzles and overcome obstacles in different themed areas.  The trailer, which was just released today, doesn’t show much beyond the game’s concept. However, early screenshots show plenty of action, as well as characters in suits from franchises like Alice in Wonderland, Lilo and Stitch, Monsters Inc., and Tron. The game is being released to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and PC this fall. This one has also been confirmed for E3, so hopefully we’ll have some hands-on impressions soon. |
