Don’t Save Loot Boxes for Ana in Overwatch

Don’t Save Loot Boxes for Ana in Overwatch

There’s a lot of buzz surrounding Overwatch’s newly revealed support sniper Ana. Understandably, many of you can’t wait to use her and unlock all kinds of cool skins and intros, but you may want to rethink your loot box hoarding. Blizzard community manager “Lylirra” had the following to say in a forum post in regard to saving and hoarding loot boxes for Ana’s release: “Before you do that, though, please remember thing following: Loot Box contents are generated at the time that they are earned or purchased, NOT when they are opened. This means that any Loot Box you earn or purchase now, or at any point before Ana is released, will not have a chance to contain her cosmetic items.” A bit of a bummer, but it does make sense.

I’d also like to bring your attention to a big change coming to Competitive Mode. Gamespot spoke with Blizzard principal designer Scott Mercer, who mentioned that a one-hero limit is on the way for Overwatch ‘s ranked mode. “The big thing for Competitive Play is we’re going to turn on one-hero limit,” he said, “so players will not be able to stack more than one of the same hero within a Competitive match. It’s not going to affect Quick Play at all, but it is something we’re going to turn on for Competitive.” Again, this makes sense. Keep tweaking, Blizzard. Overwatch is nearly perfect.
