Doritos Will Have a 6-Story Arcade at E3

Doritos Will Have a 6-Story Arcade at E3

It sounds like one of E3’s biggest parties isn’t going to actually be at E3! Doritos is erecting a six foot tall arcade machine-shaped structure, which is actually a functioning arcade game, between the Staples Center and L.A. Live. The highlight of the Doritos Mix Arcade will be a 30×32 screen on the outside with actual gameplay from people playing arcade games.

That’s only part of the attraction. Between June 14-16, the Doritos Mix Arcade will play host to a number of performances. The headliners for the concert are Big Boi, Empire of the Sun, Steve Aoki, and Wiz Khalifa, with Bold Orchestra, DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Happa, Induce, Mix Master Mike, Peanut Butter Wolf, and Zane Lowe also performing. These concerts will be streamed on Twitch , as only people authorized to attend E3 and E3 Live will be allowed into the performances.

The Doritos Mix Arcade will also be have a full retro arcade, which anyone in LA can enjoy. Demo stations for more recent games and Doritos will be provided in the venue’s lounge.

Honestly? This sounds like the coolest, hugest thing. I wish I had enough time to check it out! Who wouldn’t want to play a game on what’s essentially a huge arcade cabinet?
