Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age Premise

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is set in Erdrea, a world with thriving lust landscapes watched over by the World Tree, Yggdrasil. The game’s story is structured in acts, each concluding with major events that change the environment and impact the gameplay. This structure is reminiscent of pearlier Dragon Quest games, which have a similar episodic nature.

As the story advances, players witness significant shifts in the game world. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age centers around a young hero known as the Luminary. His fate is to battle the dark forces threatening the world of Erdrea. The story begins in the village of Cobblestone, where the protagonist learns of his destiny as the reincarnation of a legendary hero.

Throughout the journey, the Luminary gathers around a diverse group of companions, each with their own unique backgrounds and abilities. Together, they traverse through various landscapes, delve into deep dungeons, and engage in turn-based battles against enemies. Ultimately, the group aims to stop the dark sorcerer Mordegon and save their beloved Erdrea.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age Cheats

There aren’t traditional cheats or codes available in Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age. As a role-playing game, it tries to create an environment where the players themselves are responsible for the gains in the game. However, there are still ways to make advances in the game easier. Here are some of the tips and tricks that might help you gain XP quicker.

Exploit for XP with Draconian Challenge Active

With the “Low-Level Monsters Give No XP” Draconian Challenge enabled, once players reach a high level, the Hallelujah and Electrolight combo stops giving XP due to the summoned metal monsters being level 1. To bypass this, defeat any enemy that grants XP before summoning metal monsters. Doing so ensures full XP gain after winning the battle.

Quick XP Farming Technique in Celestial Sands

This technique works only when mounted. In the Celestial Sands in Gallopolis Region, players can find 14 Prestidigitators around the temple ruins. Circling the temple on horseback and knocking these foes away grants 25 XP each, totaling 350 XP per lap. As soon as you kill the enemies, they respawn. This allows for continuously repeating the trick. In no time, players can gather thousands of XP. This is particularly effective during the quest with Prince Faris before the Slayer of the Sands encounter. You don’t want to try this out before level 15, and perhaps it’s better to be 20.

More XP Farming

Players often seek out metal monsters, which are notorious for yielding high XP. These creatures include Metal Slimes, Liquid Metal Slimes, Hardy Hands, and Metal King Slimes. The rarer Viscous versions of Metal Slimes begin to appear after the World Tree’s fall.

For players targeting these high XP enemies, here are the prime locations for each:

  • Metal Slimes can be found in the Heliodor Region, Gallopolis Region, Dundrasil Region, Ruins of Dundrasil, The Champs Sauvage, and Insula Orientalis.
  • Liquid Metal Slimes frequent the Heliodor Region, Dundrasil Region, The Champs Sauvage, The Royal Library, The Battleground, and Insula Orientalis.
  • Hardy Hands are located at Mount Huji and Laguna di Gondolia.
  • Metal King Slimes are typically encountered within the Fortress of Fear.
