Tecmo Koei’s Dynasty Warriors series keeps on trucking. Between the Samurai Warriors spin-off, Gundam editions of the titles, Empires versions of many of the main games, and a trio of Warriors Orochi releases, they have released a couple dozen Warriors games. Through all of that, though, there have only been six main series Dynasty Warriors games that follow the familiar formula.
Make that seven.
Dynasty Warriors 8 is coming to North America and Europe, slated for release on July 16 and July 12, respectively. Set for release on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the latest Dynasty Warriors game will feature both English and Japanese voices, which is always a pleasant touch for those who can’t stand the series’ English voice acting. With more than 70 playable characters, the game should keep players busy for quite a while.
