EA Becoming More of a Players First Company

EA Becoming More of a Players First Company

EA CEO Andrew Wilson has some interesting ideas for where the company is going to in the future. He says that he wants to change the company’s priorities to put “players first.”

“In all honesty, as I came into the role, there was this sense in the marketplace that maybe we weren’t doing all that we could for the player,” Wilson said. “And my objective number one was to really re-instill a player-first mentality; a player-first culture inside the organization.”

So how do you put players first? Well according to Wilson, that means giving players what they want sooner and faster. One of the ways you can do this is by showing games earlier, like they did with the new Mass Effect at E3. Another way to release public betas early to allow people to try out new games, like they did with Battlefield Hardline . Finally, Wilson said that focus is going to be taken off of yearly game releases, citing that is why they are not releasing a new Need for Speed . He says that EA won’t release a new game unless it is truly great.
