End of Nations Development Presumably Ceased

Trion World’s End of Nations has disappeared from its line-up of games on its official website, and End of Nations’ website itself has been taken down too, as was pointed out on Reddit . It’s presumed that this removal of the game’s existence means that End of Nations’ development has ceased, and therefore the game has been cancelled.

In response to questions about the game’s status from VideoGamer earlier today, Trion Worlds put End of Nations’ development on hold back in late 2013 while the company “ evaluated potential paths forward for the title.” The publisher is now focusing its energy on its other titles, such as Rift and Defiance . The removal of End of Nations’ website and acknowledgement in Trion Worlds’ line-up infers that the game’s status is more than just “on hold”.

“As we informed EON’s community last fall, internal development on End of Nations was put on hold in late 2013 while we evaluated potential paths forward for the title,” reads Trion’s response to VideoGamer. “We’re currently focusing the company’s energy and creativity on Rift , Defiance , Trove , ArcheAge , and some new projects that we will be revealing soon.”

It’s likely that the game has been cancelled, as it would follow the game’s unsteady development in the past, which saw to a change in the game’s developer as well as a change in its genre–from an MMORTS to a MOBA. The last updates on the game’s official Twitter and Facebook accounts were made back in August, 2013.
