EVE Online Hits Japan

EVE Online Hits Japan

None

In a recent press release, Nexon announced that they will be bringing CCP’s award winning MMO, EVE Online, to Japan. The game will be fully localized for native Japanese speakers, but the game world will be a global affair. Any Japanese gamers will still be able to play alongside any other gamer anywhere else in the world.

CCP will still retain creative rights to the game. They will continue the development of the game itself and will handle any gameplay-related customer support. Nexon, on the other hand, will manage all of EVE Japan’s billing needs, local marketing, and PR services.

“For years we’ve looked forward to the day when we could bring a fully Japanese EVE experience to our loyal and enthusiastic audience in Japan,” said Hilmar Pétursson, CEO of CCP. “Thanks to our partnership with Nexon, that day is about to arrive. Nexon’s solid reputation and enormous reach in the region makes them the ideal partner for our Japanese launch.”

The Japanese version of EVE Online will be available on March 28th 2012.
