If gamers pre-order the Oculus Rift, they will be treated to a free copy of Eve Valkyrie. Honestly, this is a great deal, and a smart promotional move as Eve Valkyrie is a game capable of selling almost anyone on the technology. The more people that try it, the more people will talk about it and that should, ideally, translate into hardware sales.
Palmer, the CEO and creator of Oculus, stated that Eve Valkyrie “perfectly captures the promise of immersive gameplay.”
Eve Valkyrie is a dogfighting title set in space that takes place in universe of EVE Online. Vehicular combat is a strength of the Oculus, as it comes close to simulating real life experiences when compared to games that simply put players into the body of another character. In my experience with the game, my stomach would drop and my senses were excited by close encounters with oncoming objects. The game also really encourages players to keep their head on swivel, making use of the hardware’s head tracking technology.
The bundle is set to release in Q1 of 2016.
