Evolve Dev Reveals New Monster, the Behemoth

Evolve developer Turtle Rock Studios revealed on Tuesday, January 13 a new monster for its asymmetric, four-on-one shooter. The fourth monster to be added to the game, the Behemoth is as its name describes: a very large beast that towers over players as they try to hunt it down. The new creature will be available for free via the Monster Expansion Pack, which comes included with Evolve if pre-ordered. The Behemoth will be available to buy separately later on in the year.

If the new trailer is of any indication, the monster traverses its environment by rolling up into a massive boulder and destructively bulldozing its way through its surroundings, which can deal significant damage to opposing players. The Behemoth will be made available as downloadable content during spring this year, and will have a price tag of $14.99. Should players decide to pre-order Evolve , not only will they receive the Behemoth, but they’ll also be able to play as the Wraith , Kraken and Goliath as well.

Evolve’s previous monster, the Wraith, is a stealthy creature who stalks her way throughout the battlefield and uses decoys and fast movement to throw off Hunters. The Behemoth, by comparison, looks to be much slower, but it’ll will probably have very high defense due to its size. You can watch the trailer for the Behemoth via the embedded video below. Evolve is currently slated to release on Tuesday, February 10 next year for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
