Fire Emblem Engage DLC: What Does It Bring to the Tactical Table?

Fire Emblem Engage was a hit for Nintendo in January of this year, giving way to another Tactical RPG. The game itself is filled with dynamic characters, exciting combat, a vast unexplored world, and gripping storytelling. If you’re looking for even more content, Fire Emblem Engage has a great selection of DLCs with new content, characters and quests. Let’s take a look before you buy.

Fire Emblem Engage Premise

The game centers around Alear, a dragon who can take on human form. A thousand years of slumber ended for Alear, thrusting them into a conflict with the formidable Fell Dragon Sombron. As Alear journeys through the mystical land of Elyos, they gather allies and clash with the armies of the rival Kingdom of Elusia and Sombron’s reanimated undead forces. Players take control of Alear’s army and strategically maneuver them in these epic battles.

A pivotal aspect of both the game’s world and its gameplay revolves around twelve magical rings, known as “Emblem Rings.” These rings house ethereal replicas of characters from previous Fire Emblem games. When characters wear these rings, they can “Engage,” tapping into immense power by summoning and merging with these spectral beings. Both Alear and Sombron are determined to acquire these rings, as possessing all twelve grants the ability to perform an extraordinary feat of magic.

How to Unlock Emblem of Rivals

To actually play some of the content, you’ll need to unlock or finish certain storybeats.

If you’re eager to get your hands on the latest Emblem Ring, called the “Emblem of Rivals,” you’ll have to finish Chapter 6 first. Once you’ve wrapped up that chapter, make your way to The Somniel and head over to the Lookout Ridge area. You’ll meet Vander there, who stumbles upon the Emblem of Rivals in Firene. This unique ring is designed for Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude, the main characters in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. With the Emblem of Rivals, you can switch between these three Emblems during battles, adding some exciting versatility to your gameplay.

How to Unlock Divine Paralogues

To kick off the Divine Paralogues, you first need to finish the task mentioned earlier and get your hands on the Emblem of Rivals. Once you’ve sorted that, watch for these Divine Paralogues on the map. Just pick one as you would when starting any other battle.

How to Unlock Emblem of Dragons

To get your hands on the Emblem of Dragons, you’ll need to take a few steps. First, make sure you’ve completed the previous step, which is unlocking the Emblem of Rivals. Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to finish at least one Divine Paralogue.

Keep an eye out for a specific Divine Paralogue that appears at the Dragon Temple called “The Ancestor.” Once you’ve successfully completed this particular Paralogue, you’ll be rewarded with the Emblem of the Dragons. This unique Emblem Ring grants you the ability to summon the Emblem Tiki.

How to Unlock Emblem of Strength

To unlock the Emblem of Strength featuring Hector, you’ll want to look for its Divine Paralogue located east of the Dragon Temple, in the same area where Emblem Tiki’s Divine Paralogue occurred.

Now, while this particular Divine Paralogue is considered the easiest one in this set, it’s a good idea to hold off on tackling it until you’ve acquired Emblem Lyn. She has some special dialogue interactions with Hector that can make the experience even more interesting and meaningful.

How to Unlock Emblem of Acumen

To unlock the Emblem of Acumen featuring Soren, you’ll need to seek out its Divine Paralogue located north of the Dragon Temple. You’ll find it near the volcano area on the map.

It’s best to wait until you’ve obtained Emblem Ike before attempting to complete this Paralogue. Ike not only makes it easier but also has some special dialogue interactions with Soren, adding an extra layer of depth to the experience.

How to Unlock Emblem of Revelations

To unlock the Emblem of this Emblem featuring Camilla, you’ll find its Divine Paralogue just beyond Hector’s Paralogue. Interestingly, you don’t need to complete Hector’s Paralogue to tackle Camilla’s.

Since this particular Divine Paralogue is known to be quite challenging, it’s advisable to wait until after you’ve obtained Emblem Lyn. She can make this problematic mission more manageable. Furthermore, remember that Emblem Corrin has memorable dialogue interactions with Camilla, which can add an extra layer of engagement to the experience.

How to Unlock Emblem of Heroes

To unlock this Emblem, you’ll need to tackle its Divine Paralogue, which is situated to the south of the other Divine Paralogues near the Dragon Temple.

This Emblem is considered one of the easier ones to obtain. There aren’t any specific recommendations except for having multiple tanks on your team. The battle is relatively straightforward and offers no memorable dialogue interactions, making it a relatively simple task.

How to Unlock Emblem of Bonds

To unlock this Emblem, you’ll need to tackle its Divine Paralogue located in the northeastern corner of the map.

Before taking on this challenge, having several ranged units in your team is advisable. They can make the battle more manageable. If you’re interested in special dialogue, Lucina will engage in unique conversations with Chrom and Robin during this Paralogue.

How to Unlock The Fell Xenologue

You’ll first need to unlock the Ancient Well, which happens during Chapter 7. Once the well is accessible, pay a visit to Durthon at the Armory in Somniel. He’ll give you a brief side quest to visit the Ancient Well and then return to him. Upon your return to the Ancient Well, a cutscene featuring Vander will be triggered, marking the beginning of The Fell Xenologue.

It’s worth noting that you don’t have to complete the entire storyline in a single go, so there’s no need to rush. You can revisit the storyline at any point in the game. Additionally, after finishing the first battle in the story, you can use fast travel to move between The Fell Xenologue and the main map.
