Remember, Free Realms, Sony’s answer to the free-to-play MMO? And how it was headed to the PS3? Yeah, I didn’t either. However, it has just been announced that the long-in-development console MMO would be coming to the PlayStation 3 console on March 29th. Although PS3 players will not be able to mix with PC players, Sony is hoping that the game’s cost-free approach to MMO gaming will help build a thriving community in a short amount of time.  However, if you are wondering if there are any parallels to the only other MMO on the PlayStation 3 platform, DC Universe Online, lead designer Stephen Bokkes wants you to know that Free Realms will be its own experience. In an interview, Bokkes said, “I can’t say that we took any cues specifically from DCUO,” and went on to say that Free Realms will be its own, unique experience. |
