Gamescom 2011: PSN Users, Prepare To Despair

In a press release today, Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced a release month for Castlevania: Harmony of Despair on the PlayStation Network.

Harmony of Despair launched on the Xbox Live Arcade back during last year’s Summer of Arcade. It has since seen a wealth of downloadable content, including bonus characters and extra levels. Allowing for up to six players to join together online as classic Castlevania heroes, Harmony of Despair forces them to work together as they traipse through timed levels with multiple winding paths to the inevitable boss fight.

The PSN version has now been confirmed to include the “Beauty, Desire, Situation Dire” DLC free of charge, which gives players an extra Pyramid of Ruin level as well as characters Julius Belmont and Yoko Belnades. Completely unique to the PlayStation 3 version of the game, however, is a local co-op mode that supports up to four players, allowing them to game together on the same screen.

When will all of this be available? September, says Konami.
