If you didn’t hurry down to your local GameStop or EB Games yesterday, your chances of pre-ordering a PlayStation 3 are gone. The retailer claims that it ran out of PS3 pre-orders early in the day, although it wasn’t confirmed until 2 pm.
Your next chance of confirming you get a PlayStation 3 on launch day is by logging onto eBay and agreeing to pay exorbitant sums of money for the console. The average current selling price is $1500, but you may not have the opportunity to pay three times the selling price of the console for long. After the chaos surrounding Xbox 360 pre-orders, eBay has cracked down on its policy that forces sellers to have the item they are selling ready to ship within thirty days of the auction’s end. Already eBay has begun closing listings and suspending accounts. Yet, there are still some auctions running so if you can’t stand the thought of waiting a bit longer for your PlayStation 3, head on over to eBay before your chances run out.
