GameStop Simplifies In-Store DLC

GameStop Simplifies In-Store DLC

For people who don’t like to purchase DLC online, GameStop has been selling it in brick-and-mortar stores.

However, until now if you bought your DLC in store, you simply got a card with a download code on it. According to GameStop president Tony Bartel, that didn’t fly for most people. Inserting a code into a console with a controller was just too much work for most customers, so now GameStop has come up with a completely new system to make the process even easier.

Once you buy DLC in store, you will receive an e-mail that will include a link. When you click on that link, your new DLC will start downloading automatically when you next turn on your machine. For now, the system only works for the Xbox 360, but Bartel says this will possibly expand onto other platforms soon.
