During a PlayStation Analysis panel at GDC, some interesting stats were revealed about the PlayStation Network service. Of the nearly 42 million PlayStation 3 units that have been sold worldwide, 80% are connected to the Internet, and there have been 70 million PlayStation Network accounts created worldwide using the PlayStation 3.  In addition to these online metrics, traffic to the PlayStation Network spiked 60% when compared to the previous year. And with several high-profile exclusive games coming to the PlayStation platform in 2011, it would not be unexpected to see even more growth from the PlayStation brand this year. |
