The holiday season is upon us, which means games are celebrating the season with add-ons and events. The Gears of War series has a history of getting in the spirit this time of year, and Gears of War 4 will continue that tradition. It’s Gearsmas again! This time, there’s the game’s version of ugly sweaters!
Gears of War 4 now has new event playlists. Snowball Fight features a Boomshot called the Snowshot. It’s a TDM variant where all players have Snowshots and two snowballs. You need to get more snowballs and do your best to survive. There’s also Crossplay Versus again, where Xbox One and Windows 10 players can play together. Each one has 1.5XP being doled out until January 4.
There’s also a new add-on Pack. You know, the Gears of War 4 microtransaction DLC that gives you skins, emblems, and bounties. This particular Gearsmas Pack is 400 credits and gives you one Bounty and two Gearsmas collection items. You could end up getting a commemorative Gearsmas emblem, one of 12 different Festive Tree, Gingerbread, or Snowman weapon skins, one of 12 different JD, Kait, Snowman, or Swarm wrapping paper weapon skins, or one of the JD, Kait, or Swarm Drone Ugly Gearsmas Armor characters.
Even if you don’t pay or play, there’s a chance to get a gift. Next week, on December 27, an Ice Boomshot will be the daily reward. Make sure you don’t miss that! An extra weapon is always nice in a game like Gears of War 4!
