Geek Squad offers Free PlayStation 3 Firmware for the Low Price of $30

None

Although the PlayStation 3’s frequent firmware updates have been accused of taking too long and being all-too frequent in the past, one thing that PlayStation 3 owners have never complained about is the difficulty level of the PlayStation 3 update. Fortunately, if you have a problem updating your PlayStation 3 (which only involves pressing the “X” button to accept the update after connecting to the PlayStation Network, incidentally) then the Geek Squad is here to help. For the low price of $30, the Geek Squad will graciously press the X button for you should you purchase a new PlayStation 3 though Best Buy. This “deal” has not gone into effect at all Best Buy locations, but in-store ads have been spotted at Best Buy stores in New York. Although I’m sure if you tell your local Geek Squad representative that you need to pay $30 for them to press a button on your PlayStation 3, you won’t get much resistance.
