Google Reveals Android Wear for Smartwatches

On March 18, yesterday, Google unveiled its new line of Android products in the form of a wearable accessory. Coined as Android Wear, Google’s new project extends to wristwatches, being dubbed as smartwatches.

Android Wear will show you information and suggestions whenever you need them, and will include a wide variety of apps for you to choose, such as social, shopping, news and photography apps and more.

The smartwatch also features voice commands; saying “okay, Google” will allow you check up on getting what you need to do, ask what time your next flight leaves, call a taxi, make a restaurant reservation or to simple just set an alarm.

Android Wear will also allow you to monitor your health and fitness–the smartwatch will be able to remind you of your exercise goals as well as your exercising summaries. Fitness apps will be able to give you real-time information on your performances during a run, cycle or walk by using the smartwatch during your routine.

Using the smartwatch, you’ll also be able to access and control other Android devices that you own. By using the devices voice commands, you’ll be able to play your music on your phone or start a movie on your TV.

Google is working with a number of electronic manufacturers and fashion brands, including Asus, HTC, LG, Motorola and Samsung, Broadcom, Imagination, Intel, Mediatek and Qualcomm, and Fossil Group , to bring you Android Wear later on this year.
