I think we can all agree that Valve has been short-changing Half-Life fans for the last few years. I mean, sometimes I just need to control a goateed, jumpsuit-wearing, crowbar-wielding science guy, but Valve refuses to give me the chance. Well, it looks like Valve is throwing me, and other Gordon Freeman fans, a bone in the upcoming Steam version of Renegade Ops. Renegade Ops is a top-down vehicular shooter that is equal parts Contra 3 and Twisted Metal. Freeman will appear as a bonus character for those of you who ignored the Xbox and PS3 releases earlier this month and have been holding out for Renegade Ops to appear on Steam. Players will control a Half-Life 2-themed buggy that “unleashes the Antlions to aid the Renegade Ops as they fight their enemies.”
