Grand Theft Auto V Faces Social Club Launch Issues

Grand Theft Auto V Faces Social Club Launch Issues

Man, would I like to be a fly on the wall at Rockstar’s tech-support meetings the last few days. I can only imagine that it involves many stressed-out engineers and game designers, slamming Red Bulls as they try to juggle the onslaught of issues that have come out of the Grand Theft Auto V launch this week. First, it was the news that the Xbox 360 version of the game generates texture and aliasing problems when installing the play disc to the hard drive , something many gamers are likely to do in hopes of increasing game performance. Then, there was the rumor that the digital copy available on the PlayStation Network could be suffering from the exact same problems . Now, add two more cherries atop the stress sundae.

Gamers have reported issues with Rockstar’s Social Club, such as accounts not syncing properly and stats not updating. In addition, the companion app iFruit has also not been allowing some users to log in properly. If you’re unfamiliar with exactly what this companion app does, it’s very simple. In fact, go ahead and take the last few moments you have free when you’re not playing GTA V (that wouldn’t have been relegated to little things like sleep or food) and kiss them goodbye. The iFruit app can be used to affect the world of Grand Theft Auto V even when you’re not playing.  Credit where credit due, the support folks are working hard, as illustrated by this update posted on September 18th: “We have made some changes that should help to resolve some of these issues, and will continue to work toward a full resolution for any remaining problems such as logging into iFruit.”
