GTA V Predicted To Sell 18 Million Units

GTA V Predicted To Sell 18 Million Units

None

Game analysts are kind of like weathermen. Their job is to tell us what might, sort of, maybe happen in the future of games. There is no game weatherman more popular than Michael Pachter of Wedbush Securities, whose snazzy tie helped him land his own Pach Attack show. What does the great Pach have to say to us today?

Well, apparently he is predicting that Grand Theft Auto V will be a big hit. More specifically, he is predicting that it will sell at least eighteen million units. That’s a lot of units, and that’s the low end of the scale. On the higher end, Pachter said that the game could sell 24 million units if it does as well as other GTA titles have done in the past.

This is a particularly interesting prediction, as GTA V hasn’t even been officially announced yet. So Pachter is predicting that the game will sell well based on nothing other than the name alone. You have to give it to gamers for being brand loyal.

Still, there are more than enough rumors that say the game is in development, and we won’t be surprised if we see the title crop up as part of the 2012 lineup. Now, does anyone want to make a bet on whether Pachter is right or not?
