Guitar Hero is Dead!

Guitar Hero is Dead!

None

Activision Blizzard has officially confirmed that they are pulling the plug for the Guitar Hero that was slated for a 2011 release. With the music genre on the decline, Activision is focusing its efforts on new, more promising opportunities. True Crime: Hong Kong has also fallen victim to Activision’s change in direction.

This house cleaning started with confirmation that Bizarre Creations would be closing its doors earlier this year. In a statement made to Develop Online, Activision COO Cody Johnson explained that it was not originally their intent to see the company close, but instead, they wanted to find a buyer for the studio. Unfortunately, no interested parties came forward and, as a result, and it was decided that Bizarre Studios should close.

With two franchises and Bizarre Creations out of the picture, it is clear that we will be seeing a lot of changes from Activision as they start out in this new direction.
