Call of Duty: World War II Not Releasing on Nintendo Switch

Call of Duty: World War II Not Releasing on Nintendo Switch

While the Nintendo Switch has been selling out everywhere, and people are still fighting to get their hands on one, not every third party company has bought into the hype. There are a handful of upcoming games that have already been confirmed to not appear on the Switch, like Middle-earth: Shadow of War , The Witness , and Raiders of the Broken Planet . Fans of the hybrid console, prepare to be disappointed yet again.

There was some waffling around whether or not one particular large title would come to the Switch. The company behind its creation didn’t explicitly say they wouldn’t be porting it in the future. Lack of a solid no led to the rumor mill circulating. But now, thanks to a Reddit AMA, we’ve got a concrete answer on Call of Duty .

Sledgehammer Games, the developers behind the already popular unreleased title Call of Duty: World War II , were the subject of this AMA. When one fan asked directly if CoD: WWII would be releasing on the Nintendo Switch, Sledgehammer responded with a simple “No.” According to Michael Condrey (one of the bosses at the development studio), this decision was made by higher ups at Activision.

It shouldn’t be too surprising, since Call of Duty hasn’t graced Nintendo consoles since 2013 when Call of Duty: Ghosts was on the Wii U.
