Call of Duty Might Return to Being About WWII

Remember when Call of Duty used be about the events of World War II some several years ago? Well, according to a recent interview with Metro, Sledgehammer Games’ co-founder Michael Condrey has expressed interest in seeing the the franchise return to that particular time period.

Although he would like to see the idea come to reality, Condrey is cautious about bringing players back to such an era, especially since the latest game to the Call of Duty franchise, Advanced Warfare , has introduced a new movement system into the game’s mechanics, thanks to the exosuit–something player may not wish to revert from.

I think a next generation game with the latest production values and robustness in a World War II setting like Band of Brothers would be amazing, Condrey told Metro.

Now, how would it play and how would the multiplayer work after the new movement set in Advanced Warfare ? ” he added. That’s a tougher question than I’ve had to tackle yet.

The last Call of Duty game to be set in World War II was Treyarch’s Call of Duty: World at War , which released back in 2008. The last World War II Call of Duty to come from Infinity Ward was Call of Duty

2 back in 2005, before it released Modern Warfare two years later.

With Sledgehammer’s Advanced Warfare , that means that there are two other Call of Duty games currently in development between Treyarch and Infinity Ward.
