Treyarch Making Modern Warfare 3 Wii

Yesterday, Activision announced that Modern Warfare 3 will be coming to the Wii. It turns out that Treyarch, the company behind Call of Duty: Black Ops will be heading up the development for Wii version. This is a bit strange considering that the company that made the HD versions was Infinity Ward, and Treyarch developed Call of Duty: Black Ops for the Wii in-house. However, Treyarch previously developed Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Reflex for the Wii after the HD versions were developed by Infinity Ward.



This means that four companies are working on the Modern Warfare 3 project altogether. Infinity Ward made the original design and is developing the HD versions of the title along with Sledgehammer Games, Treyarch will be handling the Wii version, and Beachhead Studios will handle the Call of Duty: Elite experience. This has to be some sort of record right?
