Today, Activision has officially confirmed that the next installment of the Call of Duty series will be Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Though the game was supposed to be officially revealed during the NBA playoffs on TNT, the official Call of Duty site has already been updated with the title of the game. In addition, the site has a video reveal posted as well, though it does not seem to be working for most people. Black Ops 2 takes the Black Ops line of games out of the Cold War and into the future. Of course, this means combating terrorism, taking advantage of new technologies, and fighting in urban areas. This is the first Treyarch-made Call of Duty game to be released in the modern day. Modern warfare, so to speak, has always been the territory of Infinity Ward’s line of Call of Duty games.
