Did you have a video game-inspired costume this Halloween? Well, unless your name is Matt Borgelt, you didn’t have the best one. Yesterday, Borgelt revealed what is the most ingenious outfit ever. He went as Pokemon Go for Halloween. That’s right, he actually dressed up as Niantic’s mobile game.
Here’s how Borgelt’s Pokemon Go costume worked. First, a person spun a PokeStop sign he was holding. It offered two Poke Balls as a reward. People could then throw the Poke Ball at the Pikachu on his “screen.” He’d press a button to show it going into the ball, the ball wiggling, and finally three stars appearing to signify it was caught. It was amazing.
Of course, Borgelt has offered a video showing his Pokemon Go costume in action.
There are some inaccuracies, of course. First is the Pokemon shown being Pikachu. Everyone knows you have a better chance of seeing a Pidgey or Rattata. Second, the person throwing the Poke Ball catches the Pikachu on the first try. How often does that happen in-game?
