Halo 3 Behind Low Movie Attendance?

Halo 3 Behind Low Movie Attendance?

None

Movie sales for the weekend of October 5 were $80 million, which is the lowest figure since 1999.  Movies sales this fall season are unexpectedly low, and the film industry is placing the blame for low October sales squarely on Master Chief’s shoulders.

The website Advertising Age stated the following figures.  “Total industry ticket sales were only $80 million for the Oct. 5 weekend the film opened, a whopping 27% below the same weekend the year before, according to research firm Media by Numbers. That’s the industry’s worst performance for an October weekend since 1999. Overall, domestic receipts are down 6% from last fall.”

This gives the film industry reason to consider videogames competition now, so future movie releases may shift their schedules around the release of big titles as to not lose potential customers to game sales.
