HBO GO has finally made its way on the Xbox One, and it is now available US users. Thanks to this new addition to the console’s lineup of apps, Xbox One users have been promised that they will now be able to watch every–every!–season of their favourite HBO shows, including True Detective , Game of Thrones and Girls .
Additionally, HBO GO will also utilize the Xbox One’s voice and gesture commands via the Kinect, providing an alternative method for users to find what they want to watch.
“ Xbox is one of our subscribers’ favorite ways to access HBO GO and its incredible breadth of award-winning programming, ” said HBO’s vice president of digital domestic network distribution, Jeff Dallesandro. “ Now, Xbox One users can get in on the action and Kinect with the very best HBO series and films on this innovative, state-of-the-art device. ”
The only catch is that potential users will have to prove their subscription to HBO before they’re able to use the HBO GO app. This can be authenticated via the following TV providers. Variety also claims that the network is planning to launch a standalone version of its service in the US by next year.
