Hitman’s Being Divvied Up into Even More Episodes

Hitman’s Being Divvied Up into Even More Episodes

Still have faith in that new Hitman game? Prepared to have that take a hit (I’m sorry). The Io Interactive and Square Enix game has gone from regular release, to an early access sort of promotion, and ended up as an episodic game. When it launches, there’ll be a lot less than you’d expect.

Previously, Hitman was supposed to offer Paris, Marrakesh, and Sapienza at launch, with six campaign missions and 800 targets. Obviously, that isn’t going to happen now. Instead, Io Interactive’s first “episode” will have a Paris and one prologue mission. There should also be two campaign missions, but it’s uncertain how many targets will be included.

The other Hitman content, which was supposed to be available at launch, will instead be spread out over the following two months. Sapienza will arrive first, in April, and Marrakesh will come in May. Additional updates will supposedly arrive every month after, but exact release dates for the Japan, Thailand, and United States maps have yet to be revealed. All we really know is it will end with Japan.

Hitman will start at $14.99, when the prologue and Paris intro pack come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 11. To keep adding new locations, you’ll need to spend an additional $10 each time. The full game will be $59.99 when released on a disc around the end of this year.
