Huge Yooka-Laylee Update Comes to Consoles

Huge Yooka-Laylee Update Comes to Consoles

The “Spit ‘N’ Polish” update for Playtonic Games’ Yooka-Laylee has finally hit consoles. Now, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users will finally be able to play the game that PC players have been testing. There are quality of life improvements, camera upgrades, bug fixes, and more to enjoy.

Not only does this update bring the console version of Yooka-Laylee up to speed with the PC version, but Playtonic Games also brings more improvements not currently available on the PC version, based on further feedback from players. Playtonic Games’ announcement post does note that these extra updates will be coming to the PC version sooner rather than later. So soon everyone will be equal.

The biggest changes in the update include manual camera mode, which removes the sometimes cumbersome automatic camera movement that many players were not having a good time with. The camera itself has also been tweaked, with less scripting and different angles when going through doors. Players can now also skip through dialogue and cutscenes with a button press. This is a huge boon for players going for speedruns or subsequent playthroughs.

The full list of updates and bugfixes is pretty huge. Pop in the game and see how much better it is!
