Yooka-Laylee Getting More Improvements

Yooka-Laylee Getting More Improvements

If nothing else, Playtonic Games is admirably on-brand as much as possible. In a blog post entitled “spit ‘n’ polish”, a reference to things like Banjo Kazooie ’s stop ‘n’ swap, the developer has announced plans to patch out some of the niggling technical issues plaguing Yooka-Laylee . Basically, this next patch will be a response to fans’ critiques.

While Playtonic Games continues to work on the Nintendo Switch version of Yooka-Laylee , it is also preparing to address some of the technical criticism facing the game. Platonic will make cutscenes and dialogue skippable, fix the way the camera works and perhaps more. The camera especially has been one of the major problems with Yooka-Laylee . Many of the middling reviews discuss how little it does to improve on the classic formula.

Playtonic also announced some new hires in the update, an office manager in Chris Woods and sound designer Matt Griffin. Griffin comes with experience from the LEGO franchise, and it sounds like he’s working on sound effects and the like.
